Swimming castle
Plavecký Castle is a ruin of a medieval castle, which rises above the village of Plavecké Podhradie at the foot of the Little Carpathian Mountains. It was built in 13. century as a border fortress to protect the western borders of Hungary. Today it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region - it offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscape and the atmosphere of ancient times.
There is an easy hiking trail leading to the castle, which makes it an ideal place for a trip for families, history and nature lovers.
Specially Protected Nature Area
The National Nature Reserve with an area of almost 129 hectares was declared in 1980 and is one of the most strictly protected areas in Slovakia, with a classification of 5. degree of protection. It is located in the Alpine biogeographical region and is administered by the State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic, namely the Administration of the Malé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area.
The reserve was declared for the protection of rare dry-loving and thermophilic plant and animal communities bound to the limestone bedrock, as well as unique karst phenomena. The area also has significant archaeological value and serves as a space for scientific research, environmental education and cultural and educational activities. Thanks to its natural and historical value, it represents an important element of nature conservation in the Little Carpathians.

Accessibility to Bratislava and Austria
From Plavecký Podhradie you can reach Bratislava in about 45 minutes, with a convenient connection to the motorway. The proximity to the Austrian border also offers easy access to neighbouring Austria - ideal for work, trips or shopping.
The future of Plavecke Podhradie
In addition to the existing infrastructure, new projects are gradually being prepared in the village to further enhance the quality of life - among them, for example, a planned senior house, smaller apartment housing or sports facilities for the public.
Although these plans are still in the preparatory phase, they already indicate that Plavecké Podhradie has the ambition to develop as an attractive place to live with an emphasis on community, access to services and an active lifestyle. This combination of natural surroundings and prospective development makes the site an exceptional place to live.
