Swimming castle

Plavecký Castle is a ruin of a medieval castle, which rises above the village of Plavecké Podhradie at the foot of the Little Carpathian Mountains. It was built in 13. century as a border fortress to protect the western borders of Hungary. Today it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region – it offers magnificent views of the surrounding landscape and the atmosphere of ancient times.

Nature Reserve

The reserve was declared for the protection of rare dry-loving and thermophilic plant and animal communities bound to the limestone bedrock, as well as unique karst phenomena. The area also has significant archaeological value and serves as a space for scientific research, environmental education and cultural and educational activities. Thanks to its natural and historical value, it represents an important element of nature conservation in the Little Carpathians.
